The 2021 GEC meeting will be held as a fully virtual meeting.

Oral Presentations: All oral presentations will be livestreamed via the virtual platform and recorded for later views. Virtual presenters can also pre-record their talk if needed or desired. A virtual oral presentation demo and training sessions will be made available for presenters and you are strongly encouraged to participate. More details will be made available at a later date.

Posters: All posters must be uploaded to the virtual platform as a pdf document. Virtual poster presenters must be available and online during their scheduled poster session (Tuesday or Wednesday) to answer questions. Virtual poster presenters may upload a pre-recorded video of the poster presentation if desired. A virtual poster presentation demo and training sessions will be made available and the poster presenters are strongly encouraged to watch. More details will be made available at a later date.

If you do not see the correct student pricing for online registration, please follow these steps before completing your registration:

  • Update your account information here.
  • Once you've updated your account, you can register again at the correct student rate.

Please note: If you have previously tried to register and the rate was not correct, please make sure you delete the items in your cart before attempting to register again.

If you are a third-party registering on behalf of someone else, please email the APS Registrar [email: registrar@aps.org] before attempting to register them.

Information: Online registration must be completed by Tuesday, September 28th. If you have not received confirmation of your registration prior to departure for the meeting, please contact APS at registrar@aps.org. Requests for cancellations must be received by October 1st, 2021. All refunds will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee regardless of the reason for cancellation.

Code of Conduct: It is the policy of the APS that all participants, including attendees, vendors, APS staff, volunteers, and all other stakeholders at APS meetings will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Participants will treat each other with respect and consideration to create a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment at APS Meetings. Creating a supportive environment to enable scientific discourse at APS meetings is the responsibility of all participants. Participants will avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on individual characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, ability status, educational background, or any other characteristic protected by law. Disruptive or harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to inappropriate or intimidating behavior and language, unwelcome jokes or comments, unwanted touching or attention, offensive images, photography without permission, and stalking. Violations of this code of conduct policy should be reported to meeting organizers, APS staff, or the APS Director of Meetings. Sanctions may range from verbal warning, to ejection from the meeting without refund, to notifying appropriate authorities. Retaliation for complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated. This year, GEC has created the GEC Early Career award for early career researchers (<10 years post PhD). See the awards page for more information and nomination submissions.
